noticed this as I was doing the oil filter housing gasket...

the large hose that connects underneath the intake manifold and the connecting hose that connects to the MAF elbow has serious oil build up. Anyone know what could be causing this?

are new hoses needed or is there some sort of a seal that is aged out?

That junction between the connector (9) and the intake manifold is a little iffy in perfect condition. It's easy to break the clip that holds that connector tightly to the intake. So you may need a new connector or at least a new o-ring (10):

Also check to make sure the smaller hose from the CCV isn't split at that connector.
