I'm very interested in getting back in to a BMW. I miss my 335 every single day :( I'm looking at an F31 but have found after having 18 inch wheels on my current daily (2018 GTI), I'm not sure I want to continue down that route. The roads here in southern Ohio around Cincinnati are absolute mine fields and within 3 months of buying the GTI, 3 out of my 4 rims were severely bent and one even cracked.

Does anyone have photos of a lowered F31 with 17 inch wheels? I know the 17s look less than stellar but I'm thinking certain wheels, with springs, and in black would probably look pretty mean with also providing improved protection and ride quality.

I'm also wondering if 18 inch wheels on this car would have a slightly larger sidewall or better tires on 18 inch wheels would stand up to the roads around here. The 18s do look so much better on the e9x and f3x bodies. Or, even if buying some type of aftermarket wheel would help in that regard. My only concern is that if I wanted to put M performance breaks on the car at a later time the 17s wouldn't fit over them.

Currently running 235/40/18 Conti DWS 06s on VW Pretorias - no complaints with the tires whatsoever. Had them on my 335 and found they are great for my needs (a lot of highway driving) and lasted much longer than expected.
