Car not Starting after 20 minute drive

I Drove from Los Angeles to Santa Monica and my car didnt startt back up after i tried to leave. Absolutly no starting, it would crank but no sign of ignition, i thought maybe the fuel pump went out but then after 15 minutes i tried to start it again and it sounded like it wanted to turn on, it would idle between 400 and 250 RPM's and the turn back off.
and 20 minutes after that, it turned back and ran fine.
i do have a stumble everyother 15 minutes when im at a stop.

whats my 1991 525I problemo?

You may want to check the idle control valve. Try and see if you can give it gas as you crank it over. If it will start with the gas applied, then it could be the ICV.

That exact same thing happened to me. No power whatsoever. Turned the ignition once...nothing. Tried again and I got a little sparking, but just a click. Tried a third time and it started to roll over...tried a fourth time and gave it a little throttle and...BAM starts intantly. Weirdest thing, and it's only happened once in my entire year and a half of ownership, other than that I've never had trouble starting it.
