Hi,

was replacing the valve cover gasket on my m50tu and wondered why BMW would use a nut under a bolt to secure it. Then I realized I wasted so much time taking the studs out for no reason :eyecrazy lol. Anyway one of the studs had been damaged by the previous owner so I have to replace one anyway. Issue is I can’t seem to find the torque specs anywhere for the studs. I found that the bolts are 89 in lbs but I would think having them both at the same torque would mean if I removed the cover again, the studs would loosen instead and come out with the bolts. Anyone know what the torque specs are for the studs?

Thanks!

Any M6 thread into aluminum should be safe at 8 ft-lbs. 10 if you're feeling brave, it's not necessary.
