Just got a F32 about 2 weeks ago and want to know what the hell efficient dynamics is. The car is stick and a long time ago I learned from my pops on a E21 that taking the car out of gear and letting it roll will get you 99.9 MPG. And that's what I have believed in but now it seems that car can get better MPG if I don't take it out of gear? Is there any benefit for this as opposed to pulling it out of gear?

It can disengage and coast on its own, and uses the engine braking to aid charging your battery... But you can do it the old way too.

EfficientDynamics is a whole slew of different things - like ECO mode, Air Curtains/Air Breathers for enhanced aero, etc. in addition to the drivetrain settings.

So I can turn it off? sweet. I see the visual that shows the car battery being charged but what does the air coming into the car being blue mean? I think you said it was air curtans?

There are vents behind the kidneys that will open/close, I think that the air curtain he it talking about.

The car will always start in "Comfort" mode, which is basically middle of the road. If you have the adjustable dampers (EDC) it will be a soft ride compared to "Sports" mode. When in "ECO" mode, the car will try to get the best gas mileage possible, and being that you have a stick shift, tell you when the best time to shift gears up or down.

The car also has the voltage regulator build into the DME, and when you coast, that's when it will full charge the battery to help slow you down, like regenerative braking.
