This is a clean looking black on black 530i Touring at a Pick and Pull in Sacramento. Sad to see this rare e34 in junkyard. The listing says its an auto but the VIN decoded to manual: https://www.mdecoder.com/decode/wbahk2314rgf80452

I thought all 530iT were auto in NA?

Has anyone seen this recently? Need the front bumper!

There were 481 of these imported a quarter-century ago. I implore someone to rescue it - call the PnP, buy it whole if they didn't mangle it too much. If I were local, I'd be doing just that.

My US 525iT shows up as a manual but is an automatic. I wonder if it’s issue with the vin decoders for all tourings?

FWIW, most junkyards will not sell whole cars. I know in many states it’s illegal for them to sell it and risk a vehicle considered “junk” ending up back on the road, unfortunately. I would assume CA is one of those states.
It’s a real shame to see that in a junkyard.

I wouldn't assume that 1. it's actually illegal, or 2. even if it is illegal, that it can't be done. The manager of a Picknpull in WA told me that the only trouble with selling a whole car is if they don't have a title, and even then that's only because they don't want to get involved in lien sale paperwork. They apparently do it often enough that there's a corporate procedure and a fixed price, something like $900. If there's a title, as long as you're ok with missing cats, punctured gas tank, and whatever other damage the car suffered into, in, and out of the yard, you can buy it.
