Has anyone ever installed the Split-Folding Seatback Cusion into a rear seat that does not have one from the factory ?
Want to change mine, if it can be done DIY.

Using the E36 as a guide, it is not possible. The bulkhead between the trunk and the passenger compartment is different. If there is no fold down seat, then the bulkhead is solid and requires cutting and stiffening of the portion that remains, then you need to weld in the hinges. You can open the trunk and see what the bulkhead looks like... It will be solid, or it will have a huge hole built in.
While anything CAN be done, the question is, how much does it cost. Personally, I think you can buy a new car cheaper than you can install the split seat into a car that does not have one.

As your car has a central folding armrest, you can certainly, and without too much trouble, give yourself a pass thru for skis and lumber. As was said, full folding seat will be a problem.
