PSA: Reminder to lube hood latches springs


Reminder to open your hood and lube it at least once a year.
Went to close the hood, and noticed it wasn’t latching correctly.
One of the hinges was rusted frozen
Soaked it with Liquid Wrench and worked it free with a screwdriver.

You'd be much worse off if it rusted frozen with the hood closed! I've dealt with that a few times. Not fun!

I lube all the hinges and latches probably every 6 months, works like butter

Any particular spray recommended? So many different ones these days. White grease etc etc I mix them all up.

I use zep 45 and a small brush with red line grease for door latches
