i have some fuzions tires...they are a new line up from japan.

anyhow for the rear i have some rubbing issue. i'm running 245/40/18

here's the problem...i don't know if its rubbing on the inside (on top of the tire on my tire wall...or if it's rubbing against the fenders...

What can i do? plz help. will i need new tires or shall i just get my fenders rolled?

Whats the offset on the rear wheels? That will determine where you are rubbing, and if you can fix it.

245/40/18 is not the correct size of an E36... You should run 245/35.

you know what, i don't even know what the offset is. it came off of a E39 and before that it came off of a 325.

Daved, so if i purchase some new tires in 245/35...will that resolve my rubbing issue?

because i don't want to spend the kind of money if it's still goin to rub.

You need to find out the offset. Take one of the rear wheels off, and look on the inside. It should say "et XX" (XX being the offset, should be between 20-50).

Without the offset, you can't know for sure what problems you actually have.

I don't know if it will resolve the problem but it will help. Anyways you're losing acceleration and getting a bad reading on your speedometer.

okay, finally had the chance to take one of the rears off, "ET is 35"

so what are my problems now? i think the tires are too big...will i need to roll the fenders? or just get some 245/35's

Theres your problem. A 35mm offset is WAY too low for an 18x9.5. You are definetly rubbing your outer fender lip. The correct offset would be in the 45mm range.

I dont think going to a 245/35-18 is going to solve your problems. It might help though. You biggest problem is width, not height.

You need to roll your fenders as much as you are comfortable with, and run more camber (helps with fender clearence). Going to a 235 width will help as well. Also, if you are running a softly sprung suspension, you are probabily getting lots of travel which is going to cause more rubbing.

Good luck. In the big picture, you'd probabily be better off buying new wheels with the correct width/offset.

thanks for the info...damm...i should've done some research before i bought these wheels. As for now, i will get my fenders rolled and see what happens.
i'll probably buy 245/35's later when my tires are worn. If that helps any....

But like you said, in the long run i will need new wheels with the correct offset.

As for suspension wise...i'm running the eibach pro-kit with single koni's adjustables.

I have the same problem. i love my fuzions, but the sidewall is just too high! We should all write them and beg for 245/35.

you think we would be able to get some?

i hate spending some money on two brand new tires...i still have 90% tread life left.

see if your tire shop can help you. I can bring mine back and only loose about 100 dollars. I need to call them tomorrow and see what they are saying. I don't want to roll the fenders. I might order some of those toyo T1s that there is a group buy on right now. 20 bucks less than the fuzions.
