My 2006 325i ran fine before it was stored for 7 months. Tried to start, but low battery. Charged battery. It tries to start but just continues to crank. Pump relay works, 11.8 volts to pump. Pump runs with 12v connected. What should I do. Dealer backed up for service for a week. Any ideas appreciated.

I had a similar problem with a '94 325i convertible. It sat in the garage because the baby was small and it was better to drive the X5 than the "little car". Anyway, I wanted to take it out one day and I had to put the charger on it overnight, then hook up the jumper cables to my F150, and it simply wouldn't start. It seemed to crank strong, but would not start. After messing around with it for a long time, I finally called AAA, he put on his charger pack, vrrrooom. Fired right up. He had a testing machine that said I had a dead battery, despite what sounded like a strong crank.

JD, that is strange. I'm charging over night again and will try tomorrow. Battery was new less than a year ago. Stumped!

Get it load tested at Autozine to see if the battery is good or not. Could be a bad cell.

Greenhawk, I charged the battery for 30 hours. Still the charger only showed 95% charged. Tried to start with 3 short cranks. Nothing.
Charger showed 30% charge. Has to be the battery right? New Bosch installed by dealer in January 2020. Now just have to get it to the shop. Thanks for your input.

Towed my BMW to the dealer. They said fuel pump and low pressure sensor. Would this be common if a car was not driven for 7 months?
