Aloha everyone, I am in Honolulu, HI and have just purchased a 1991 BMW M5 for a very low price I believe. The car has been parked in a garage for 2 years since the original owner died and his son in law was left to sell it. 111k Miles, 1 owner, everything stock, cared for well up until 2018, interior leather not even worn out. Extremely dirty exterior and engine bay however, and needs to be towed. I‘ve loved these cars since birth and am so excited to acquire one. Any advice on the do’s and dont’s of m5 restoration and maintenance would be appreciated! Will post pics and progress reports as I go!

Aloha! Congrats on your purchase, if you got it for under 10k it was probably a steal, if it is t running maybe less. You’ll have your work cut out for you, these cars like many others do not enjoy sitting. Plan on all new hoses and lines, fluids of course. I can’t comment on M5 specifics, but overall restoration of any e34 with a straight 6 is not a daunting task. You’ll have plenty of room to work with. Goodluck!

Thanks guys! It was less than $10k and am ready to give it some love and invest time and $$ into it. Canʻt wait to drive around the island with the 5 speed and inline 6!
