Hello everybody!

I bought an E39 530D automatic that has been changed to manual. ZCS i already changed via NCS, no problem.
Then i tried flashing manual software on DDE via WinKFP, it immediately jumped to 100% and told me Error:

Afterwards when i tried to restart the process i got this error:

So i removed the battery, let it completely run out of battery and tried again. This time the error from first pic came again.

I didnt check voltage nor put powersupply on the battery, can someone help me?

Cheers!

Let's see your winkfp settings/configuration

What exactly do you mean with settings? I'm using a USB cable tih Dual + K Can with which i succesfully changed the ZCS using NCS Expert. In WinKFP i was using Comfortmode, loaded in all the E39 SP Daten, went on enter ZUSB - used 7789478, entered the VIN, pressed back and pressed Programm. The next things that happend are shown in my first post.. So i really don't know which settings are meant

The configuration button on top menu bars

For your car specifically, uncheck "fast baudrate", uncheck "programming voltage"

Put power supply, or have at least 13 volts in system.

I managed to flash it!

However my cruise control isnt working and some lights are on on my dash (check engine) if i read errors, there are none..

Configuration fixed it?

Send me the last 7 of your VIN to check if that is the right ZB.

I don't think there would be any coding in that old of dde, is there?

Yes, that is the most common cause of cruise control not working on the auto to manual swaps: the clutch switch.

Did you recode the instrument cluster, ews, abs/dsc, and other modules to manual with ncs expert?

You may also have to clear dde adaptations after recoding.

I did code the ZCS manually in ews and cluster, after that i did code car. Can you tell me more about the clutch switch? How do i clear adaptations? Should i also unplug the automatic ecu?

Yes, unplug automatic egs computer for sure.
Clutch switch would probably have to be guided by wiring diagram like the 530d manual. I think newtis.info would have it.

After you unplug egs, use inpa or tool32 in the dde. It may not do anything specifically. I think the issue is that the egs is still connected.

If you coded it correctly, egs should be disconnected and thrown away :)

I didn't think Austria allowed that big of modifications to cars?

I have lots of family in Austria. I've visited at least 15 times, and driven all over.

+12 V from fuse 41 goes to pin 3 of clutch switch
Ground from somewhere to pin 1
clutch signal pin 2 to pin 23 of X60004 of dde (4th connector)

Thanks! To get the wire from the dde to clutch sensor i guess i gotta remove the whole dashboard or is it not that much work?

I'm sure you can feed it though the holes in the firewall (by the wires and pipes for brake or clutch) without major disassembly.

I would run it next to the wires for your accelerator pedal, is possible.
