Hi everyone. I have a 1998 323is. I recently changed the wiring harness and dme because mine fried. Long story short, I went with a Kassel Performance with a EWS delete, and tune. The transponder in my key went bad and I decided getting an ews delete would be the best bet. Now the car turns on and everything however it idles horrible and I’m getting several CEL codes. P0505 (idle air control system), P0340 (Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit bank 1), P1519/P1525 (Manufacture Control)

So after I installed the new DME I also installed New O2 Sensors, cleaned ICV, and cleaned all sensor connections (No codes). After the initial start up it idled kinda rough but nothing alarming. I went for a drive and about 10mins in I lost all power and the car stalled. I’m stumped and frustrated. I’m not sure what’s going on. I know everything is connected properly because I labeled absolutely everything before I changed the harness and it ran like a champ before. I’m guessing there’s a vacuum leak somewhere. And the cam sensor when bad which is causing the other codes. Can I get other opinions? I just want my back :( Thanks :))

Did you label the connectors on the original harness and then transfer over the labels to the new harness? Sadly there are connectors that are the same for different sensors that can get mixed up.

Other than that you should smoke test the eng ine for vacuum leaks.

Also I forgot to add that the car rev hangs like a damn Olympic Champ! I would be driving the car and whenever I got past 4K rpms it would keep climbing or stay put for a good 6 seconds after I let go of the throttle. Nothing is in the way of the pedal so that’s fine. There’s a whistling coming from the ccv I think and it’s leaking oil like crazy. I’m sure that has something to do with it. Any suggestions?

I’m 98% positive everything is properly connected. I labeled absolutely everything before I switched harness and took countless videos. I don’t think switched connections is the issue

The bracket that holds the iacv also is what holds the grommet connection to the manifold. That bracket can bend a little out of shape (should be 90 degrees) and can be bent back. But yours sounds like it might not be fully connected. I would remove it and check that it hasn't lost its shape.
