Hi. This is my first post on the forums here and i own a 2011 e90 bmw 335i and the harness that goes to the windshield washer reservoir and the side marker on the fender got chewed up by the tire so i got a new harness from a parts car i have and just put that on my car. wired everything up properly and the 2 plugs that go to the windshield washer fluid reservoir is getting roughly 12-13 volts and the plug that goes to the side marker is only getting like .01 of a volt so was wondering if anyone on here knew a solution to my problem here

Welcome to the Forum!

Did you check the fuses: 52, 77, 84, 86? Those control the lighting in the car, and it's possible that one of them is blown from the wires shorting out.

I think i checked a couple of those but i will check those fuses and see if one of them is blown

so i just checked all those fuses and everything is good except there is nothing for fuse 52

Does it look like there are two copper connectors at both sides? Sometimes you will only see one, and that will be BMW ran on wire, but not the other.

are you talking about the 2 wires that feed to the plug? if so then yeah there is 2 copper wires

Naa, I was talking about the fuse box, where the fuse would go. I wonder if the LCM shut down that lamp when it got cut, but it should do a self test everytime you start the car to see if the bulb is there or not. I am assuming that you have a bulb out indicator coming on the dash?

yes i am getting a lamp out on the dash. and for those 2 copper wires are you talking about going to the fuse box in general or to a certain fuse?

also i am getting a couple electrical faults when i go on ista+. the first one is p0100 and the other is the fault code 009CBB and when i click on details it shows the battery output is 12.64 volts and the output for that connector is .25 volts which is roughly the same reading i would get when i checked the 2 wires that go into the sidemarker plug with the multimeter.

It would be where the fuse would go, should be a spade connector on top, and one on the bottom.

So can you talk to the LCM and see why it's cutting off the marker light? There should be a test plan that you can follow in ISTA.

The P0100 is for the MAF, or MAF circuit, have a look to see if the connector is good and tight on the MAF and the wiring looks good too. Does it show a test plan to go with that code too?

I figured out what the code for the MAF was. i unplugged the intake and forgot to connect it back. but how would i talk to the LCM? first time of hearing what about the LCM so i dont know what it is. And which fuse do you want me to check for the spade connector?

LCM is the light control module, aka the light switch. Have a look in the CAS, for it should be talking to it as well and do a quick pull of codes.

CAS = Car Access module it's basiclly the front page on the car. On the newer models, they all talk to the CAS and you can normally just talk to it for all the Codes, ect. This saves time for the tech, instead of going thru a dozen modules to see which one has a code or issues, it's all stored in one place.
