Today i've talked with one guy who considers himself a bmw "fan", not trusting him enough though so i decided to ask you. Its all about the 2.5 tds
He said that the injectors from the 3.0d fit to the 2.5 tds directly with no problems.. is that true? Also is it hard to fit a 3.0d turbo into the tds and will that even make it to 200hp?

You have to be more specific when identifying engines. "The 3.0D" can mean at least three engines I can think of just among BMW, all of which are common-rail and use very different injection systems than the M51.

Moroza is correct, the two engines share nothing much other than a bell-housing bolt pattern and cylinder bore spacing. The M57 you're talking about has a completely different electronically controlled method of injection, and there is no chance that the injectors will work on an M51 TDS.

As for the turbocharger, The manifold mounting flange looks like it might be the same, going on the pics on RealOEM, but where the M51 has a wastegate to regulate boost, the M57 uses a variable geometry vanes to control it, so even if it did fit, you'd have to control that. The M57 is a fantastic engine, my E39 530d has done 250k miles and still pulls like a train.

Yeah i know that about the turbo, i think to keep it stock just boost it to 1.4 bar, even if it breaks, a tds turbo in my country goes up to 20-30 euro max, the cylinder heads 50 euro, not a big deal. Anyway something off the topic - I plan on installing the bosch ve mechanical pump off a e28 2.4td.. how do they make the element(or head, not sure) to 12mm?
