I replace my radiator and my lower coolant hose that has the temperature sensor but it leaks from the temperature sensor

Put a new sensor in but you may have to replace the hose also because the sensor snapped into the plastic and I may be brittle from age

Replace the temp sensor, or just the o-ring if you get the correct size. FYI, BMW doesn't show the o-ring separate in the parts catalog.....

That’s what they want you to think. It’s available if you know where to look.....

I looked long and hard for the correct size O-ring and tried a couple of SAE sized rings that did not quite fit. Remember that the material must tolerate moderate heat and ethylene glycol. The only place I found that would sell that exact O-ring would sell them only in lots of 144 pieces at a cost similar to the cost of a new temperature sensor.
If I have this problem again, I will try wrapping some teflon tape around it and putting it back in. Can't hurt to try.
