Hi,
I'm stuck with coding a new used RSMC to an E91 320d 2006. The old one was flooded/corroded. So I got a used one with the same part number and installed it. Now when I try to code via NCS with an empty FSW_PSW.MAN file I get something like (translated from german):
"Error in CABD! See CABI.ERR and ERROR.LOG! COAPI-2020: ECU not answering IFH-0009: ECU not connected or not answering FRM_87 COAPI-2020: ECU not answering SG_CODIEREN"

Error code stored in FRM:
"0x9CBE: Communication to RSMC faulty"

Fun fact: I also get the NCS error when trying to code the LSMC.:shifty

Ideas? Do I need to reset the FRM before coding?
Thanks!

Go to a shop that has Ista and have them try

I do have ISTA. What would it change? I would like to check the wiring but couldn't find a pin out for the SMC plug. Did try to figure it out via the FRM SSP but I am not fully convinced about what I found out.
X14260:42 Supply voltage for SMC
X14260:24 LIN Bus going to X13421:10 of the right headlight (SMC?)
X14260:25 LIN Bus going to X13420:10 the left headlight (SMC?)

Is that correct? Any further suggestions?

BTW: Is it mandatory to have the headlights turned on while trying to code/diagnose?
