Hello Peeps,

I've googled (maybe poorly?) for over 30 minutes, and searched www.newtis.info for a considerable time as well. No solid confirmation.

My car is 2008 335i, E93, RWD, Sport package.
I've seen two widely published values for torque as it pertains to the Outer Tie Rod End Nut (holding tie-rod to wheel hub assy).
The values being 122 ft lb and 48.x ft lb.

If I was reading 100 and 122 then I would do 105 and leave it.
However, being 48 OR 122, I'm at a loss.

I'd appreciate any guidance/info on this.

Thanks!

Wow, where did you see 122? That's WAY off.

Message vanished when I was correcting typos.

That's almost an answer ;)

It sounded high, but that's the most repeated value. Wanted to confirm or get correct value. Based on your response, and that 122 is higher than the control arms, I'm inclined to think it's way high, but... looking for actual value.

My bad, it is completely different from the xi knuckle. On your car, it's 165Nm. Wow.

Where did you see the lower specs?

Thanks relative4.

I looked at newtis a few times. Admittedly the terminology throws me. I should have found that though...

A thread I came across early is below.
It initially shows 122, then someone suggests 59 ft lb (3rd page). Then again, someone also suggests +90* which I didn't buy at all. (If i recall, this '+x*' did apply to control arms at sub frame, as they pinch an aluminum sleeve... I'm tired now though and didn't just reverify.)

I'm surprised that newtis has this spec, but that's what I was looking for!

Much appreciated. I don't mean to ask you to do my work for me relative4.
