Recently moved to LA for work and am looking to sell my E38 M-Sport, or trade it for an E30 or E36 due to my very small parking lot and the fact that I no longer need a vehicle this large, now that I have moved out here. I drove to car from Maryland to Savannah, GA day 1, then across to LA over the next 3 days, averaged 24mpg @ 72mph average over ~47hrs of run time. Car never skipped a beat.

$5,500 negotiable
Located in North Hollywood, CA 91606
VIN: WBAGG83451DN81333
2001 E38 740i M-Sport
175,XXX miles
Orient Blue Metallic
Dove Grey Heated Sport Seats
Vavona Redwood Trim (a couple cracks here and there)
Original Staggered M-Pars w/ full size spare
Rebuilt Transmission (I have a document the original owner kept on maintenance, but he did not keep receipts)
Few dings and small scratches here and there, car will get fully polished and waxed before anyone would take delivery.
Headliner is sagging in rear (can be fixed if thats a deal breaker)
Rear decklid subwoofer speakers are blown, DSP system works as it should.
Needs one bulb socket for driver side rear center tail light bulb.
AC is cold, Heat is hot.
Everything on the interior works 100%. every cup-holder and seat/wheel adjustment all are perfect.

Only spot of rust is on the bottom of the driver door (SEE LAST PIC)

Maintenance in my 4 months of ownership:
Valve cover gaskets & all grommet seals
Pass front rearward front control arm
Pass front swaybar endlink
Driver front forward control arm
New front rotors (drilled/slotted/vented), ceramic pads, and new wear sensors.
2 new rear tires
New battery
New plastic fan shroud (original fiberglass/composite shroud was broken by someone leaning on it:facepalm:)
Oil changed with Mann Hummel filter and 10w-60 Liquimoly
Trans fluid checked and topped off with proper spec liquimoly, and coolant drained, flushed, and refilled with OEM BWM coolant by Premier Autowerx in Frederick, MD

I picked this car up because I missed my last E38 (Royal Red Metallic/Black Active seats 740iL), and wanted something large, comfortable, and reliable to drive across the country in, but now that I am here, I am just finding myself wanting something a bit more engaging and smaller. I do not have record or the timing service being done, but the engine is smoother than multiple other M62's I've heard with fresh chains, so I would believe they were done. [Story-time] I picked up the car from a gentleman that had received the car as payment for work, since the Original owner's wife's health was declining and they couldn't afford to pay the $7,500 bill. Wanting to help the original owner out since he was a loyal customer, he did the deal, put the car in his name, and then sold it to me, needing a detail and the work I put into it. So unfortunately I wasn't able to talk to the original owner to get more details.

I am an open book and would like to paint an honest picture of me E38, in hopes that it will go to a loving home. I would not hesitate to jump in it right now, fill the tank, and drive anywhere in the country.
