Round Headlight Bulb Access Panel

Hi, I have a 2014 328i. To access the headlight bulbs, you turn the round cover counterclockwise a few degrees and it should lift off of the housing. Mine seemed to turn all the way, but would not lift.

I ended up prying them off with a screwdriver. This broke some tabs off of the covers and I've ordered replacements (part 63117311241).

I'm not sure what I did wrong, if anything. Did anyone else have trouble removing the covers? Thanks!

Nope, I remove them all the time. Just turn it a little bit and it comes right off. Maybe you turned it too far, re-engaging the locking tabs. Or maybe it was in the unlocked position to start with, and you turned it and locked it.
