I recently replaced the adjusters (ship in bottle method) & they appear to be aiming low. Tried adjusting with little to no change. Is it the level sensors? Will Replace both. The OEM suppliers are $30 ea. less than BMW ($160 for 2).Worth the savings? A cheaper start than replacing the LWR 3 or especially the LCM.
I’m guessing INPA would help but don’t have it ........

Might be one of the sensors by the front and rear axles. My lights stopped adjusting earlier this year, and I found that the sensor arm by the front passenger wheel had come loose due to a rusty / broken connection point. Here's a pic showing the small rusty area, with the end of the sensor arm sort of hanging above it, detached from that end. There is one on the rear passenger side wishbone as well. Don't know why but the pic is rotated left.

Thanks, yes that is the area I believe may be the culprit. Hoping for a way to troubleshoot without investing in software.

Should be an easy fix if that's the case. Pull the front passenger side wheel and check to see if the sensor arm is connected. If it is, then remove the rear passenger side wheel and check that as well. Here's a pic of the rear headlight adjuster connection on the wishbone. In my case the flange had been damaged by an idiot tow truck driver who used a tow hook on the wishbone. The dealer wanted to replace the entire wishbone for $900 so I got some aluminum bar stock and made my own flange.

Also the software can be had for free, all you need is a $10/20 cable.

No need to remove the wheel. Just get the car in the air and crawl under there to inspect...much easier! :cool
