2008 BMW 328i

Hello everyone. I have a 2008 328i and I Jack e a few questions. Is my passenger side mirror supposed to tilt down when I put it in reverse? Also, I got a rear view mirror from the junkyard. Ots the one with the 3 buttons on the left underside. I'm not sure the year, but is it compatible with my car? As in should the buttons work and all the other functions? Any help will be appreciated.
