I recently removed the stock navigation/tape deck/radio from my E38. There were two 12pin connectors at the back of the unit (white and blue) . I bought a slim XTRONS unit for the X5 and it fit perfectly in the dash, without meddling with the HVAC system. I ran power and ground to the unit and got it to boot up. After that I connected the resler interface to the USB port and installed the app+dsp license. I can adjust settings for the LCM and perform a variety of other functions as well as communicate with the OBC. I even have the illumination wire connected such that my stereo lights up when I turn my running lights.
ALSO, with the IBUS App I'm able to control my CD changer in the trunk and my steering wheel controls work to adjust the volume. The sound quality is excellent, BUT I CAN'T GET SOUND OUT OF THE HEAD UNIT. No radio stations and no sound. I've only got a few wires remaining from the 12 pin connectors.
I want to know how to connect the antenna wire on the head unit and also how to connect the sound outputs from the head unit to the rest of the system in the trunk.
Please don't tell me to use the 17 or 40 pin connector because my vehicle is not equipped with either of these.
I'm just trying to figure out which wire connects to the radio antenna and which wires will produce sound from the head unit.
I've got:
3 black wires + 3 pink wires
2 blue wires + 2 yellow wires

Watching this as well. Live in your town so when this gets sorted I would like to see this unit for my car.

I think this has the info you are looking for. https://www.m5board.com/threads/xtrons-pb7639bp-android-head-unit-installation.586378/
I think you problem is with DSP the amp is looking for a digital signal which your XTRONS unit doesn't provide. So you have to code the amp to listen to an analog signal, and then run wiring from the trunk to the radio in the dash (along with the antenna cable.)

Did this ever get sorted out?

I'm very interested in this setup as well for my 750. Would love to see some pics of the dash install on the e38. What's the model number of the unit and did it get squared away?

Okay, I jumped in with both feet on this one, as I was looking for a good, budget 21st century upgrade to the old system. I bought the slim 9" Extrons for the E53 (model IN9953BPL) which was $215 on Amazon. I also got the extended harness (Extrons EL007 - $70 on Amazon), a cheap backup camera ($20 on Amazon), a cheap external TPMS setup ($43 on Amazon), and the Resler I-bus interface w/OBC and DSP licenses ($75.60 online from Germany). I had the BMW to Motorola DIN and Motorola Din to Fakra adapters for the antenna connections, so all I needed was a long motorola DIN antenna lead ($13 on Amazon). All in for less than $450. I have a 1998 750iL with DSP HiFi. Went to work mocking it all up in the trunk with the short harness provided with the unit to make sure everything worked. Eventually, I got everything working without having to rewire the amp or speakers. This is gonna be nice. It fits nicely in the dash and looks quite good. The Resler interface is amazing, and well worth the price.
What I could use advice on is routing the extension harness from the trunk to the dash. I know a few have done this, so any advice would be appreciated. Just eyeballing it, it looks like it might be easier routing it on the passenger's side, but I haven't started removing any panels yet. The harness appears to be long enough for either side. I'm having a hard time visualizing where best to have the harness enter the rear passenger compartment and enter into the dash space previously occupied by the OBM (particularly with the large pre-installed connectors on the harness).
The only major thing I have not gotten working is the CDC/Sirius set-up I removed from my '99 750 parts car (it had been retrofitted with a BM53/MkIV/Widescreen/CDC/Sirius). If I understand it correctly, I can use the CDC (PI) that I have and just wire up an I-bus/Power/Ground plug for it. The Sirius unit is daisy chained on the CDC. I will need to rewire the L&R outputs to an RCA cable running to the Headunit as a source. The Resler/I-bus app controls the CDC . What I am unsure about is whether the Sirius unit is supported by the Resler/I-bus app. The I-Bus app does not show Sirius as a source, but it is not powered yet. Anyone know?
One last issue, which existed previously. I have no radio reception despite wiring up the proper antenna adapters/leads. I have not yet tried the diversity antenna contact cleaning that is recommended because I wanted to first check if the fuse to the antenna amp may be blown. Anyone have any suggestions on what fuses to check? If they check out okay, Ill do the DeOxit cleaning job.

Answered one question. Hooked up the CDC and no Sirius. Still looking for advise on running the harness. Looked at some more posts on the antenna issue and it appears I can rule out the fuse. I'll check if the antenna amp is powered, and if so, try the cleaning.
