2008 335i 76k. Somewhat metallic hollow sounding moaning pulsing noise 1500-2000rpm under light load, not if coasting. This is the rpm range used around town a lot so I notice it. Sometimes I think I hear it a little up to 2500rpm.
Now the kicker is that it stops if I turn off the AC. But I have a hard time believing that type of sound could be coming from the AC compressor. Maybe it's just the reduction of load on the system. Everything else is working perfectly. Any thoughts?
