Hello all,
Hoping someone can nudge me in the right direction. I have a 2008 e61 520d and the passenger dipped beam has been giving me issues for weeks.
The light used to flicker alot so changed the bulb, still flickered so changed the ballast, still flickered so changed the bulb again (Using osram bulbs so no cheap rip offs).
The bulb does not flicker now, but when I put the lights on now it stays on solid for 30 seconds, then idrive highlights dipped beam error, the light is still on at this stage for another 10 seconds before it switches off, so being shut down by LCM.
Using INPA I try access the light module and says it can not find the requested module but confirms the module it has is LM_AHL_2. Stored errors for LM are 9CB7 and 9CC5.
Using tool32 I have loaded both FRM_87 and LM_AHL_2 to try and clear the short with status_lampen_kurzschluss with the job confirmed okay. Rechecking lamp status and still have FL-Links_short_circuit = 1.
Today I needed to find out if I have an actual short in my light cluster so I swapped them from side to side. The fault did not transfer so the passenger light still went out with the driver side headlight, confirms issue with supply. Checked power supply at plug connectors and the passenger side had permanent 12v supply and the drivers side did not so something not right there and that could be the reason I've suddenly got the high battery discharge issue. So does anybody have any advice what to do now? The only think I'm thinking is ripping the LCM out for inspection. Also how does the LCM and FRM work together?
Thanks in advance 👍
