Hey All,
Any thoughts on which is better? I've been told but not confirmed that Elring is the supplier for BMW brand gaskets, true?

I have seen Elring's logo on BMW branded bits in the past.
I can verify that Elring quality is comparable to BMW branded or Victor Reinz.
AJUSA is trash, just an FYI.
I only install Elring or Victor Reinz on the BMWs I take care of.

While I am sure you have a valid point, VR or EK makes any given BMW gasket or seal.
I have been installing VR for years, I dont like Mahle branded gaskets, but EK or VR are just as good as BMW.
I have installed several hundred VCGs over the last 9yrs of business and I have never had a VR or EK gasket fail prematurely.
On the newer N54/55 engines I use EK only. And since I warranty all my jobs if BMW brand really made a difference or the EK/VR brand failed early I would be doing a lot of warranty work...

I have installed several hundred VCGs over the last 9yrs of business and I have never had a VR or EK gasket fail prematurely. I used EK VCGs along woth VR vanos solenoid seals and UTCG on my e38 and the driver side failed prematurely so I decided to use genuine for everything on that side for the replacement and will only use genuine for engine gaskets going forward. They aren't that much more expensive so it's worth it IMO...

The genuine gasket sits inside the VC channel nicely and doesnt fall out which allows you to install with one hand nice and easy...https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190726/02a0a7b2095b9a4eee3b55e26c0d006c.jpg

I don't know how often you do these jobs, but I rarely, if ever have a problem with a VR staying seated.
9/10 I need to clean more oil residue out of the channels and it stays in just fine.
Worst case I use a dab of RTV on the firewall bottom corner, let it sit 5min, then install, never had a leak from a bad OEM gasket.
I have had warped/cracked/broken valve covers on an M62 before.

FWIW, I just did my valve cover gaskets again. I had VR on there before for about 45k and went with Elring this time just to try something different. I liked the Elring. It held in the channel firmly and fit great. I didn't have a genuine gasket for comparison, but not worried about these elrings. The shop that did my transmission said they have good luck with Elring, and they warranty their work like samsonevicks
