Well the little lady didn't give me anygrief going to the track this time. At the track is another matter. The car has been running well and on the street, it is a littlestiffer but not bad. The look is better but I have to watch for curbsnow. I am still running the EDC/SLS.

Long story short there was not a bignoticeable difference with the new springs, diff and tune. The cargets to a higher rev point at the end of the long straights and Ieither have to lift or shift right before I jump on the brakes. I dobelieve the throttle response is a bit quicker coming out of tightcorners. I'm at 130+ at the end of the straight so I just hold it instead of adding a shift.

The big surprise is that it is just asmuch fun to drive as my M5. This was my first day taking out my M5with the traction control off and 500hp on tap. Very few people arepassing me anymore. It was so much more fun to get some oversteergoing out of the corners. The car has way more power than thesuspension and brakes can handle. My daughter said I was doing over140mph on the front straight. My son was worried that he would bebored in the 740 after riding in the M5. No way! He was having ablast riding in the 740 and could not believe how well I was throwingthe car around.

So my little lady started acting up onthe last session. After hard braking and jumping on the gas out ofturn 11 the car would shoot out a puff of smoke. I looked under thehood and there is some oil on the left rear side of the engine. Atfirst it looked like the brake booster line but I'm not sure? Thebrake pedal is softer than normal but the car stops just fine. Thework never ends!

On a side note I ran the M5 brakes downto a thread and on the track they were complete dog crap. Why wouldanyone put crap pads on a car like this? I ordered EBC yellow stufffor both cars and I hope they work? The Hawk HPS pads were prettygood but would fad after a few laps and squeaked on the street. TheCool carbon S/T pads were awesome, no fad on the track and no noiseon the street. Unfortunately after upgrading to 750 brakes I can'tget pads for the front. Same thing is true for the M5.

Pretty cool. I didn't even know my car would do a buck forty. Cool. Porsche guy was in no hurry eh?

There were only two run groups. I chose to mix it up with the slow cars instead of the GT3's and Corvettes. Getting passed a lot takes you off your line and breaks your focus. We had five 30 minute sessions, not bad for $200.

Maybe oil sloshing around? Possibly time for a catch can?

There is oil residue on the left valve cover, it was all cleaned and resealed when I did the TC job. I pulled the vacuum hose to the brake booster for inspection and got a nice sucking sound so I think that part is good. I pulled the dipstick and get a nice gurggle. The PCV has been replaced twice.

I'm going to pull the coils and take a close look at the inner VC seal. Clean everything up and see if I can pinpoint the leak?

Great write up - I wanted to double check, are you using the Dinan Transmission tune? How do you like it?

Yes I still have the stage 2 Dinan transmission tune. It is pretty snappy when you have your foot in it, I have no basis for comparison. I think with the adaptations at work it will "tune" the shifts based on your driving style. When I used to leave it in auto at the track it is way more snappy on the drive home. I shift manually now so it doesn't change after a track day.
