No idea what iv got here hoping some one can help me, iv been told stock it came with the v8 but the po had it swapped for an i6, everything seems professional, it has what I beleve is an aftermarket sunroof because it has different controls for the roof than I see in the manual. I bought it from a friend who had it for 6 months after the po
The x5 runs and drives good, abs light is on, and check engine light showing lean on one sensor. Hoping some one can tell me what exactly an alpina x5 really is as I can only find mention of one on the internet. And as I work on it I'd like the get the right stuff. For brackground I am a liscenced auto tech, and have my own snapon solus pro (not the newest gen of scanner but the one befor) I also have about every tool known to man. I'm going to find out how and I'll post some pics I'm new to this fourm.

Does any one know what the tallest tire an x5 will fit on the 20s? I have a second set of bmw rims in 20 inch that I just purchased and was hoping to put something a bit taller on in an a/t or m/t I'm not looking for a hard core 4x4 here iv got jeeps and trucks for that on the farm im just looking for something that will get me out of my driveway in the winter and be better on the logging roads for camping, iv already gotten stuck in my field with the tires it has now. Or should I just be looking for some smaller rims? Any idea what will fit over the brakes? Also iv determined it has an aftermarket webasto moon roof the install is so clean it looks stock, does have a bit of a whistle at highway speeds but I cant hear it over the sound system.

I saw a post within the last 3-4 months where a guy did that. Of course all the purists cried foul, but it actually looked kewl.

Use the advanced search and punch in off-road in the x5 forum. I'm sure you'll find it.

EDIT: That post/pic may be on one of the other BMW sites, I'm a member on three altogether. If you don't find the post here, lemme know and I'll look for it on the other sites and post back
