I was going to replace O rings on the heater core today. Orded the parts from Bav Auto but they were too big, didn't seat inside the heater core.

In reading BMWfans they are listing too many seals. Unit only uses three.

Which three are right for a Behr heater core in the '95 540?

While I'm here I had no success re-fitting the plate which fastens the two side pipes . It has to seat in a slot and I was unable to get it that last little sliver to drop in.
Now I surmised the existing unit is leaking from the upper plastic body housing so I am ordering a new one anyway but is it most likely I ever so slightly moved the pipes and they are just not lining up straight enough for that plate to drop into its slot?
