So I am having a problem and was hoping someone could help me out with it. I will be driving and all of a sudden the gauges will shoot up then go to zero then go back to where there supposed to be. My gas gauge also is not working. So if anyone knows what my problem is and can help me that would be great.

I had an a 318is that did the same thing at 130k. The cluster was bad and i ended up getting a used one with 30k miles and no tamper light activated!

Cluster is failing, seems to happen the early models as my '93 320 did the same thing last year. Easy fix, just make sure you get another 6 cylinder cluster to replace yours with otherwise the RPM gauge will read wrong.

With NCSexoert and NCSdummy you could take a read of config of old dash, then apply it to the new dash
Or if the old dash is dead or unreadable plug in the new dash and use NCSexpert to aply the chassis no and ZCS so it will be configured the same, or NCSdummy and NCSexpert to to adjust that dashes config but chassis no will be wrong, then just pay someone to correct the mileage
