E39 lower control arms question

Hi there.
I am working on my suspension and realise my lower control arm are really tight with the body, as much as I can't move them up and down to follow the suspension movement. Aren't they suppose to be moving with the suspension and not against it ?

I don’t think I follow your question. What is the current assembly state of your suspension? I ask, because on an assembled suspension, I’m not sure how you could tell tightness was coming from the LCA vs anything else like weight and shocks. If the LCA ball joint is detached but the bushing is still torqued, then you are in a weird spot that I don’t think anyone will be able to answer (when re-assembling you don’t torque the bushing until the weight of the car is on it).
