Hi All,

For the ones who haven't seen my track car yet: CLICK HERE (https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?2381740-E36-325i-M-tech-M50-track-car-1992-Amsterdam-update-thread)

I have had the car at the lift See Photos (https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?2381740-E36-325i-M-tech-M50-track-car-1992-Amsterdam-update-thread&p=30069325#post30069325) and found out that the shocks in the rear are 'done'. The shocks in the front are also quiet done as well. So I thought its time for an upgrade.

Currentlyi'm running:
- Original M-Tech shocks + springs.

The car needs attention at a few parts but the main thing = Coiloverset + Differential (leaking at the drive shafts at the moment).
I spotted a FK adjustable hight and hardness set, but it's cheap cheap, so not sure. Check this one out: FK hardness adjustable coilover kit BMW serie 3 E36 Coupé year 1992-1999

Previously at my POLO 6N GTI (1996) i have driven an FK G3 coiloverset | 6 step adjustable. This was the best upgrade I ever made to the car.
I'm currently looking in to Coilover sets for the E36 and there's a HUGE market for it, so I want to ask you guys help!

Very curious if there are track guys who can advise a FUN set.

You do not have a sufficient budget for any competent track capable coilovers. That is the honest truth, and it needs to be said.

Your best option is a set of M3 Bilsteins w/ progressive lowering springs (I recommend B8s & H&R Race springs). They will out perform ALL budget coilovers on track, and not be ridiculously harsh on the street. Nothing comes close to the performance & value of the simple strut and springs. Valving adjustments on cheap coilovers are a gimmick, and arent really necessary. Neither is height adjustment, because a track car should be corner balanced.

You can easily increase negative camber with strut bolt shim kits, or simply sourcing grade 10.8+ hardware. Setting up the alignment will be the most important part. PM if you have any questions about alignment settings for a track car on a strut & spring setup. I will not offer any alignment advice for cheap coilovers.

Thank you for your post. Great to read your feedback.

I don't drive the car on the road it's a track car only. At the moment the springs are really bad. Also, I'm a starter at driving on the track so indeed the budget is small.

I'll consider your information and if I buy a good set, I'll contact you for alignment info.

I'm in contact with BC racing now. Do you have any advice because they offer 2 systems:

1 original with the springs to the control arm
2: all 4 same coilovers (without the spring at the control arm)

Ok, so I found a KW Eibach set. Original collaboration between the two.

KW shocks
Eibach spring

2 years old and still very good for my budget.
Personally I don't mind 2nd hand, this is via via and it's a guy I trust.

Exciting, camber plates are there!
