hi,

I want to know if is normal that when I put the BMWscanner, the DME module, doesn't allow me use "live data" or "coding data" or "reprograming" buttons.

I dont have access to nothing, I want to change the odometer but I cant

My car is a 540 from 06/97.

what would be happening?

Pins 7 and 8 may need to be "bridged" from the inner side of the connector. Judging from the model year of your car, you will need to be plugging the scanner into the diagnostic (round) port under the hood. Is that how you are doing it? (Yes it needs an adapter for that, but they're cheap here in the US).

Are you wanting to rewrite the mileage showing on the odometer because of a tamper dot?

You may need to connect via the underhood diagnostic port, and you may have the “demo” software and not the fully featured product.

I don’t think bridging 7/8 is common with PASoft/BMW Scanner.

"Product is performing as designed" as they say on the tech support hotline.

BMW Scanner can't do coding/re-programming on DME's - at least for E39's and E46's. For some modules the programming and/or coding and/or EEPROM and/or Live Data functions will be available, on others they will not, and that's just how it is. You definitely can't change the odometer data without erasing the cluster chip - there's long threads on this stuff out there. If you thought you were going to be able to dial down your mileage magically, ain't gonna happen w/out a lot of work.

Yes! My car has a round connector under the hood and I've a adapter for this. I removed the tamper dot put the same mileage beetwen IKE module and LCM module, because the DME module and the EWS module are with empty data.

I dont konw if is a demo version. I bought in ebay with the adapter.

What is the purpose of bridging the pins?

Thank you geargrinder!!

My only purpose is that all modules works with the same mileage. Because nowadays, I have two modules with mileage at zero (DME and EWS) and two modules with Mileage at 92,900 (IKE and LCM). and I want everyone to have 160,000 kilometers because that would be the actual mileage approximately

What is the purpose of bridging the pins?

On the INPA cables (the K+DCAN cables), if you can't connect to any modules except the DME, bridging pins 7 and 8 allows full functionality.
