hard to find answers on this. I have a 1996 328is last digita of vin are et01540. well i wanted to order the solid articulating joint from the e34 but i accidentally ordered 32311158347 which is for the 740's, 750's, 840's and 850's. Went to install it and its way too short. It only grips the upper steering shaft maybe 1/2". Question is if I order the "correct" one which i believe to be 32311150489, how much longer will it be? Ive heard some people saying it fits perfect but saw an old for sale post with someone selling it because it was 1/2" too short.

IIRC the z3 steering joint will work as a replacement for the guibo. I think I remember reading the rack and column don’t line up perfectly that’s why they didn’t use a joint but people have been using z3 joints with no issues 🤷🏽*♂️
