Hey gang
Ok I got my first BMW a 2001 525I wagon--95K miles excellent car so far--just love it In looking over service records I see it has never had a water pump--I was driving the other day and heard a squeal like an idler pulley maybe--went away but have decided time is now for cooling system re-do
I have ordered new Bher radiator--, hoses, expansion tank, thermostat housing with stat, new fan clutch and a kit with all three tensioner / pulleys also added aluminum water pump pulley and all new belts and a few sensors great kits from FCP folks

Questions
All the heater hoses etc look great--there are a lot of hoses on that thing
I did not order those

am I missing anything critical? I want to get this done to avoid trouble I plan on keeping this great car

Thanks

I didn't notice you actually listing the water pump itself. Replace that while you're in there if you're not planning on doing it.

Do you have the gaskets for the water pump and the thermostat housing? A wrench big enough to take the fan off? New BMW coolant and distilled water? You have a good list of parts and should have a solid cooling system after you're done. Keep those wagons running, I love my E61.

Also completely optional: any plastic shrouding in the area around or above the radiator.

Thanks
Yes the Kit has a water pump with metal impeller I love this darn wagon and the wife has said keep it no matter what so
I was prompted by a member here to check out FCP for parts --they have a great site and parts are in "kits" that are comprehensive
Lifetime warranty on any parts purchased and they seem to have many German made parts vs my local guys that offer china junk
We LOVE this darn wagon

Here is an easy upgrade the e39 m5 radiator bolts right in the difference is the core is wider, more cooling area, I know because I put one in mine
