Hello everyone,

So I got a 96 M3 with a s50 intake conversion on a s52 block and head. I've had the car since last October and ever since I bought it, it has been burning oil and I always get a very strong exhaust smell of mostly burnt oil. I'm running stock headers, catless pipes and an AA exhaust and resonator. The only time I see blue smoke is when I come to a stop after the engine is warmed up and I've been driving for about 15 min. I come to a stop and if I tap the gas, I see smoke roll over my car. I've replace the VCG, the CCV, oil pan gasket, and oil filter housing gasket.

I'm almost at a loss with it so if anyone has had similar symptoms or might know what is going on that would be great. I have a feeling it is my valve stem seals but I don't get any smoke on startup and I don't think it is the piston rings because it doesn't smoke when it is moving.

Please help!

Idle or decel and the throttle plate is closed with high vacuum in the intake behind the valve pulling in oil through the guides/seals. Made worse by warmer/thinner oil on warmup.

Under power the piston speed is high and the higher vacuum extends into the cylinder pulling oil through the rings.

I'm guessing guide/seal problems. Mileage? Guides and/or valves replaced? Most rebuilders don't replace the valves because the direct replacements are expensive or they use cheaper two piece valves instead.
