I'm looking at at 08 335 with 130k, is it ready to blow up, how do they hold up? I'm ready for some turbo torque, the M Coupe is getting old.

The N54 requires some maintenance. What has been done? We have had our 08 535xi with N54 for 8 of its 10 years and 100k of its 130k miles. I have de-gooed and de-carboned the intake side of the head, replaced valve cover gasket, oil filter housing and oil cooler gaskets, coils, plugs, vanos solenoids, tightened wastegates, wastegate hoses, cooling system hoses and thermostat and water pump, 02 sensors, diff and trans and brake and front diff and transfer case fluids, front upper and lower control arms, trans pan/filter/mechatronics sleeve, front and rear rotors and pads, one rear wheel bearing, and probably sone other stuff. Turbos doing ok so far. Some oil seepage so they will probably leak more and I will change them within the next few years. 335i with N54 should be similar. Find out what has been done. Then you will know whether the car is worth $5k or $10k or somewhere in between.

Its $6k now with some body damage and a salvage title, not sure how much history will be available.

I would skip it. You can find one in better condition for $7-8k if you look patiently. That car would have to be discounted to more like $4k to be worth the risk to me.

Don't buy a salvage title car
My last several have been OK deals., drove till tired of them and sold for profit.

You won’t be driving an 08 salvage title 335i you bought for $6k and selling at a profit after you tire of it. Most likely you will be fixing a bunch of stuff. None of it is really expensive but it takes time.

I'm not giving them asking price, thats for sure, I never get my asking price, looks like a fender/headlight, maybe $500 plus paint.

Plus a bunch of maintenance/repairs if you want to have a nice running car that will stay nice running.

That sounds like a terrible idea I wouldn't buy it, if previous didn't do scheduled maintenance and stuff this thing will surely start giving you problems very soon, not worth it
