I am still debating on which to go for. I've heard to go for the RMS because it is upgradable and the AA is not? Right now i am kind of leaning toward the AA because of what it comes w/ over the RMS ( front mount intercooler, etc. )

Any opinions or Personal experiences w/ these two s/c kits?

Any input will help.. thanks.

Do you plan on going past 8psi? If so, then the Vortech is your only choice. If you plan on keeping it stock at 8psi, get the cheaper of the two choices.

Yes,do a search like most of us have.Look at the reputation of each company,pm some members from both camps. Then empty your wallet. :)

AA undoubtably has a great reputation and does a lot (from what I have heard) tuning to dial in the RMS/Vortex setups. The stage II RMS setup has the aftercooler, to which I have this to say -

I was lucky enough to drive an SC M3 today and.. Oh My God! It runs the RMS Stg II setup and I am so F*n jealous! Good torque, no heat soak.. and POWER POWER POWER. I would imagine the AA system would net very similar results, properly tuned and installed.. (That goes for any FI) but now I have your delemia also. I need some boost!

Since you are on the east coast, call AA. They are awesome enthusist and will work with you either way, I am sure. PS.. A proper implementation of FI brings the M3 ALIVE! I am counting my change right now. Anyone need a barely used kidney? Sorry, liver is not for sale :buttrock

I dunno, I've always thought AA's sc was ghey as fuck. $5,000 and most only make ~ 285rwhp and the torque gain is pitifull. It wont even break an M3 into the 12's and they trap low, 107-108 is the highes I've heard so far. Sorry, thats just too weak. It should cost 3k, no more.
On top of that your basically stuck at that power level because that itty bitty little compressor is already maxed out. The reason it comes standard with an intercooler is because the compressor (actual 'charger) is just too small and begins to create too much heat. The other units can get away without the i/c at the same boost levels because they are much more relaxed, not being stressed nearly as much.

If I had the money I'd stick with the vortech. You know you will eventually want more power, the vortech has the capability to make more where as the aa piece will just start to glow. Better yet, get yourself a sc bracket and modify it to accept an ati procharger and get custom tuning. I guarantee it'll produce more power at the same boost level than any of the other kits, do yourself a favor and find their website and start reading....they are extremely knowledgeable.

For technical purposes I said M3. It was actually Croaks 328 w/ '95 M50 3.0 OBDI conversion (and every other M component swaped over). If you are not familiar with his car, he does a wonderful write up regarding his engine, trans, diff swap as well as all the other goodies: Super Charger and various tuning.

It is a Dinan (CARB Sticker!!) running some of the Stg II RMS equipment. The aftercooler does it's job in a very big way.

Anyway, it was bad ass. The car is what he calls brutal. I would say, something more along the lines of "Fucking Brutal" :)

I still have goose bumps and I am not even kidding. They just poped out as I was writing. I am seriously looking to do this mod in the VERY near future. We have some stuff going on a work, and providing I feel stability in the near term, it is done.
