It is a m-sport auto with 86K on it. 328i and RWD
What should I look for when I look at it?
Any major concerns?
Thanks for the help, John

I love my 08 328ix wagon. Been dependable and just as fun to drive as my wife's 09 328xi Coupe.
Mechanical stuff is the same as any other E90 series - check threads on typical issues. IMO in a used car you're better off with the 328 than the 335 because you have no turbos to worry about.

328's are great. and ive always had a soft spot for wagons. Id recommend having a PPI performed by a shop familiar with these cars. Little things can nickle and dime you to death, parts are considerably more expensive then the older 3 series.
As previously mentioned unless you want the power from a 335 the 328 are much more reliable and less to go wrong.

I picked up my 2010 328xi three months ago. After 15 years of daily driving 4-cylinder Subarus, I am loving the handling, the quickness, the technology. I know that the BMW fans grouse that the 328 is "slow" but that is only because it is not a 335, but it is a great DD and is plenty quick enough and is more reliable. (And, when I want to put down some real HP, I do have a weekend fun car - '99 Corvette.)
If you are willing to do the maintenance, either willing to pay for it or to DIY, then it is a great way to go.

John, have you had a BMW before? If No, my experience is that you will find that it handles far better than advertised, the power band is better than explained in print and that you will love driving it.
As to reliability, this entire forum is full of very useful information. (I think that it's important when looking at the comments on reliability to take into consideration the modifications in place by those posting.)
The obvious things:
1. PPI (pre-purchase inspection)?
2. Are you going to DIY or find a good INDY (independent BMW mechanic)?
3. Service records for the vehicle, especially oil changes? Sometime carfax will have this if the dealers reported
4. How many prior owners? Did this car follow the lease, CPO, auction path of ownership?

I should add that I have never found the 328 to be underpowered. It's a 6-second 0-60 vehicle, and that's the minimum performance I want. I do have the manual transmission (not available in more recent models) and that makes it more fun.

I loved my 2010 328xi Sports Wagon.
Minus the common ignition coils, she was flawless.
I agree, the speed is acceptable and even decent with the handling being even better.
I did however sell it and move into an 08 335i Convertible.
This is fast, sounds sexy, has mods and is WAY more prone to issues.
This worked for me because my wife's car is the family car and mine is the fun car... no way are rear facing car seats going to fit... or at least not getting the kid in without dropping the roof.

If it's also a manual I'll talk you out of it... but I need to know where it is first... so I can go buy it. :D
