swaping my auto transmission for a Manuel

i have a e39 530i but its an auto i want to take on drifting and i want to turn my car into a drift car but i need a Manuel,
at some point i will be doing an ls3 swap
but for now im just trying to swap the trany and get as much seat time as possible
so can it be done, witch trans should i uses and how would i go about it

I am doing the same swap, but I am doing the LS3 and the manual transmission at the same time. I am using the Tremec T56 Super Magnum 6-speed which is compatible with the LS3. However, I have not had any luck finding new replacement clutch pedal assemblies. If anyone has any suggestions other than scrounging the junkyards, please share.
