Not new to the 3 series, I had an e21 - 1983 320iS that I spent a fortune on >50K acyually, had from 83 to 2008. OK now to the current story - not planni ng on getting rid of my e38 - a 2001, had since new it is a '01 740iSport. Now has 33K miles so much of a garage queen but hey I am retired an need projects which is what I was looking for this time. A friend that I used to work with in NY before I retired from NJ called and said I have a neigbor with a car project for you.... I also built a Ford 302/5.0L Miata for him several years ago. Turns out it is a 2007 335i Coupe blue/ beige with 127K miles. He is tired of putting money into it and wants to sell as is.....it is leaking both oil and water, has an SRS error...otherwise not a bad car. He says one or both turbos have been replaced a year ago, tires are one Conti AWS 10K miles the other 3 are almost new. Body is an 8/10 saw one minor scrape low on front bumper and the interior is about the same, no rips or tears, shows dirt in pics. It must have sport Pkg as the steering wheel has shift paddles.... I am leaning towards buying the car and rejoining the 3 series crowd.....against the wishes of my wife tho - she knows how I spend money on BMWS! The price is right for the car itself but I will need to get it from NJ to TX and since it is leaking both oil and water can't drive, will need to trailer or ship.

Roger, I have a 2008 328i with 230k miles. Suffered from oil leaks for a few years until I replaced the entire valve cover. All oil leaks went away. Seems like something failed in the old cover, causing it to hold too much pressure inside the engine. Hope the tip helps.

That is a weird one...Thanks for the info tho... Everyone says to install a catch can system instead of the OEM PCV system..

Another question for you 335 guys what are the two black plastic tanks just in front of the expansion tank on the passenger side in front. They are mounted on the bracket that is starting to rust....look like there is vacuum hoses coming out of the top
