hey guys, looks like im in need of a rear differential replacement, thankfully its going to be a warranty job. i'd like to extend the life of this one as much as possible and dont have much faith in "lifetime" fluids. i would like to replace the gear oil with a high quality aftermarket, any suggestions or recommendations on what gear oil/weight to run in the rear diff? thanks in advance!

If you want to keep a warranty on that differential, the only thing going into it will be the BMW recommended gear oil. This is not the time to get creative with alternatives.

its a 3rd party warranty, if anything happens in the future the tech diag is enough for warranty, they dont inspect the parts after the claim. the warranty runs out in 20k so id like to do what i can to extend the life of the replacement. im ok with changing the fluid at a specific interval if it will extend the life of the parts.
