I'm toying with the idea of getting an 03' M3 so my 98' has to go. It's Cosmos Black with Dove grey interior. I baby the hell out of the car so it looks perfect, no bullshit, it's perfect. No scratches, accidents, road salt. The car has 58,000 miles. It's had a regular diet of Mobil 1 5w-30 and Sunoco fuel. It has a conforti intake and a Supersprint exhaust. Both products are less than a year old. Good rubber all the way around, brakes are about halfway down. The interior is flawless. I can get pictures if anyone is interested. I need to figure out how to attach them. I live in Mansfield, MA and my cell is 617-216-8034. I'm asking $23,000 or best offer. I also have the stock exhaust and intake as well as the original floormats. The car has every possible option except for heated seats.
Please contact me if you would like a picture or go for a hot lap of Mansfield!

If I could get the same car for $5k less I would buy it from across the country and ship it. I'd still come out at least $3k (can you say Eurosport cam kit!) ahead. Also, CA cars have no rust issues. :devillook

Not to be a hater, but I paid $21.5 for my Cosmos 98 M3 in Feb of 2003, when it had 52k miles on it. It was perfect, had over a year left on the CPO, and was a California car. The guy was asking $24k though.
It's really tough to sell a high-dollar used car. It's a buyer's market.

You should put this in the sale section, and I don't understand why everyone has to talk down his price. If thats how much he feels its worth, then that's his call. I'm sure someone out there will be willing to pay it.

1. This should be in the classifieds section.
2. It never ceases to amaze me how proud people are to say how little their car is worth. :dunno
You'll get what you want for it, trust me just put it in Autotrader and advertise it out there and it will sell. Might take a little time, but the person that wants your car and is willing to pay that much for it is out there. You're not a dealer so you aren't pressured to keep cars moving, so just sit on it till it sells. Good luck man, sounds like a nice car.

Thanks for those of you who posted positive feedback. To those of you who think the car should sell for 16 or 18 or whatever are the same guys posting questions about how to fix their falling apart M3's. In New England $23,000 is not unreasonable at all. The car is in exceptional condition. I take car of my cars and as a result, I can ask the higher end of the NADA suggested price. You get what you pay, it's that simple. :buttrock

I advertised my 98 m3 in autotrader and i have gotten a few bites but i am firm on my price because that is what i want. I have no rush to sell it but becasue of lack of use i think someone should enjoy it instead of being a garage queen under the covers.
So what i am trying to state here is it is YOUR car you decide what to do with it and if you have it for sale YOU decide on the price. I had one guy tell me he let a 98 m3 same as mine go last year for 18 thousand and becasue of that he wants me to give him mine for that price. Just ignore them and do what you want to do.

I think that's a good asking price. I paid $24k for my fully loaded 98 Cosmos M3/4 with 23k miles a week ago. It was also a CPO. I think it was a steal
If you aren't selling it I'd be interested in swaping interior panels with you. I have black and am planning on doing a black-dove two-tone

Like I said, my car is in perfect condition for $18.5k, if you can get more than that in your area then more power (and cash) to you.
As for implying that those who paid less got less of a car, that's just insulting. :nono I have not had to do any repair work with my car. I get regular compliments. Oh yeah, it came with CPO and LTW wheels as well.
So good luck with your sale, hopefully you'll get what you believe it's worth. And when the guy who pays $23k meets me online and finds out that I paid $5k less for a comparable car, I'll be polite and won't say anything.

thats nice that you found a good deal, but don't shit this guys thread. Keep your comments to your own thread and not in the For Sale section.
i dont think its shittin on the guy's post.... its just to help him out.....
for reference... Foreign Motors West sold a 98 artic with 58k miles with ltw's and sold it for 19,000 on ebay recently (Like 3 wks ago) .....
this is the problem with your guy's theory about being patient... that's fine when your price is slightly out there.... but what is going to happen is you are going to sit and sit and suddenly you realize 3-4 months have passed and then you are readjusting your price and your new asking price will be a price you prob could have recieved months ago.
Good luck to you. Postin on bimmerforums is worthless though. It is filled with a bunch of people who love M3's but unfortunately can't afford to get them because people are young etc. I am a dealer and I have sold 10 e36 m3's in the last two months so I think I know what im talking about (and have sold to every region in the country). I sold my own personal 98 M3 with CPO left with 52k miles for 21,400 in February (florida car, mint babied yada yada). The market has only gone down since naturally. The fact BMW mass produced the e46 only hurts e36 m3 prices more. I can get you an 01 m3 coupe that has a 100k mile warranty on the engine from BMW with less miles than your car for 34-35 after i take my cut. It's hard for someone to then swallow buying a 98 with no warranty vs an 01 ..... when they're paying 10k more (based on your pricing).
