Let me preface this by saying 1) Yes I am embarrassed to even ask this 2) I've never taken injectors off the fuel rail before. So I have the engine out of my car and now seemed like a perfect time to rebuild the injectors. I looked up a diy and it sounded easy, but didn't have any visuals because you know, photobucket. 1st step of the guide was "carefully pry cap off with screwdriver." I somehow computed that to mean the metal injector tip with the 4 holes... Soooooo I tried to pop that off with a screwdriver and ended up bending up the ledge very slightly and got a feeling that wasn't right. I realized my mistake and bent the metal cap back down. I didn't bend it far enough to distort the center around the 4 holes. I'm guessing it is glued down somehow and I may have broken that seal. If this cutaway of the injector is relevant to ours, if I didn't bend it up enough to unglue the center it may be ok??? The circle in blue is the lip that I bent up slightly. Is there any way that I'd be able to test if it's leaking or should I admit defeat and order a new one? :(
