I'm new at this forum, but I can't find a section where you can introduce yourself. I'm from the Netherlands and owner of 4 BMW's: 2 x E34, one E36 convertible and an E30 Touring. I'm restoring these cars to their original condition and add some extra factory options. Some US options are not available in Europe, so I registered at this forum to look for them.
For my E34's (I have a 525i automatic sedan from 1995 and a 525TDS automatic touring from 1995) I'm looking for the gear indicator US model. In Europe these indicators are not illuminated and as far as I know, the US models are. I found the strips on an US website, but found out I will need the complete bottom plate where this is build in.
My questions: are these indicators illuminated with all E34's and has someone the complete bottomplate including the illuminated gear indicator for sale?

Not all US cars had an illuminated gear indicator, I'm not sure which do but I recall having cars with it, perhaps I'm confusing with E32s which brings me to this; I'm pretty sure all E32s had it and those interchange with your E34 indicator.
Sourcing E32 parts locally would certainly be easier for you than importing a used one from here.

Thanks for your reply. I don't know of the Europe version of the E32 has an illuminated gear indicator, but thanks for the tip. I will look into it.
