Hi I have a 1992 E34 M5 Touring and the Air recirculation button has two positions ( IHKR system) one for automatic solution control (orange LED) and the next for full recirculation Green LED
Currently the system is only switching straight to the full recirculate mode rather than automatic and I would like to know if anyone can point me to a solution.
I have already swapped out the AC control module but suspect this may not have anything to do with the Air Recirculation (?) and I have cleaned the AUC sensor in the Air intake. I have a replacement sensor coming and I have opened up the bulkhead insert and removed the plastic fan shroud and the flaps for the recirculation are working "normally" i.e. they close when activating the button and open when deactivating. Can anyone tell me what else may control the automatic part of this recirculation Could it be a faulty switch ? When I first got the car the switch used to go to orange on one press and recirculate on two presses. I know this is a minor issue but in the interests of maintaining the car as original as possible I wonder if someone out there knew anything else that might need checking

Wow !Beautiful car ! The only input I have is that I have an auc hvac in a non auc car and the button still lights green when pressed even though my car has no auc. One press auto 2 press recirc

interesting. I don't have an answer either but both of my euro cars have AUC, and the led lights up green when on Auto and the other led lights green when full recirc. (no orange led) I wonder if the orange could indicate a fault?
