Accelerator Pedal Linkage Assembly

I'm trying to fix my pedal assembly and I have questions on the bushings.

1. How are bushings oriented on the bar? as in which way does the big lip face?

2. Where does the clamp go? in a lot of pictures, it is on top of the bushing furthest from the pedal but I feel like it doesn't do anything there.

I created a diagram and I feel like it should go between the bushing and the curve in the middle, giving it a slight tension.

I can not tell from the diagram how the bushing is oriented, nor where exactly the clamp goes.

What exactly does that clamping spring do?

I feel like it doesn't secure anything, just snaps on and sits on the bar.
