Any good advice on replacing the bulbs in the side markers. I have already broken 1 clip on the lens trying to change bulb. Its easy to insert screwdriver to release it but trying to pull it out with the metal clip on the other end is a bit difficult. Looking for advice, don't want to break another one. I am referring to the lens in the front and rear side bumpers, not the repeaters behind the front wheel. All I have found online so far doesn't help me.

I had the same issue, the metal clip expands in the bumper and getting the clip squeezed so it comes out without breaking is hard to do if you can't get the metal clip squeezed. The lights are also bad about melting and cracking. Went to the salvage yard and nearly each light I found was melted and cracked.

Surely there's someone out there who has some experience with these side markers, c'mon guys and gals

They are to be removed from the clip end first. Now that you know which end the clip is on..
Easier said than done as the plastic is almost always brittle and the clip breaks out with the slightest provocation.

I appreciate the responses, it doesn't seem there is a correct or tried and true method for removing and replacing these markers. there's all kind of videos, info etc. for various other BMW models. I guess I'll try it, go easy and not get frustrated, that's when I make mistakes. Oh Boy!

Every time I try to remove one, I break it. I'd like to know as well.

I might take you up on that Andy, what are you asking for them if I need them.

The clip needs to be adjusted so that it doesn't have a chance to pop behind the bumper.
