I have 94 525i with what I understand simpler setup. I wonder what all retrofits can be done?
So far I know about:
1. Remote door locks (require module and new key)
2. Memory seats??

There are a ton of retrofits that can be performed. I have a 350 page PDF that goes into depth on a lot of the retrofits if you'd like to check it out.

Click on the persons username and a little window will pop up, then click Private Message. If it works, can you flip a copy to me too?? Please!

This is an invaluable resource. I saved it on my computer, and I printed it and had it bound at Kinkos for $6 just in case it becomes inaccessible online.

Bad influence too :) I just ordered set of rear headrests from eBay. While I'm refinishing all leather I thought it's a perfect time.

Terrific guide that I'll be using for sure.
Though it's not much of an extra, I didn't see foglights installation anywhere? I don't have them on my E34 but would love to have them. I can't find where the plugs are or if it's going to play hell with the CCM or LKM (since I know the F/FOGLIGHT message is a possibility, especially if I ever removed them).

There are lots of retrofits on e34s. You could take the latest m5 s38b38 version and install the 1.8ltr out of the 518i if you are sick of acceleration and noise. You would definetly get better cornering balance as well. May devalue the car a little so think carefully. You could even get rid of those stupid heavy 4 piston caliper and 345mm disks and install the std 518i brakes as well.
With a bit of fiddling you could fit the USA market 85mph speedo dial from the e28.
All sorts of of cool things can happen with our e34s

There are also a lot of retrofits that never came on an E34 from the factory - E31 4-pot brakes for any model, 850 clutch for 540's, E32 750 hydroboost brake master...

That's an incredible amount of guides. I'll be well on my way to having a lot of options in the E34 then. Thanks Shogun, you've been super helpful as always.

Thanks again for all the input. I spoke to a very reputable local indy about it yesterday. He explained that the numbers are a bit ow, but should be fine. The most important thing is the consistency. He said there are many factors that can effect the numbers. It is very unlikely the motor will go based on all cylinders being weak, more likely one (or more) will fail in entirety. I am good with that.
