Can the clutch pedal be bolted on to the existing supporting bracket with the brake pedal? Or would I need to get a whole new assembly for the swap to work?

I've always read you can just bolt it on but you need a longer bolt, a clutch pedal, and a different brake pedal or just modify the existing one. Unfortunately no first-hand experience on my part.

Ohh alright haha. Thanks man I was looking at the diagram and that’s what it looks like to me! Just seeing if anyone else had any problems with this.

The manual brake and clutch pedals are a direct swap with the automatic brake pedal & spacer, simply remove the bolt and change them out. Check and see if your existing automatic pedal frame has the perch for the clutch return spring -- some do, some don't, no real sense as to why that was. I think earlier e34 automatics had the manual perch from the factory.

Many who have converted their automatics have left out the return spring, which doesn't seem to be a problem. The pressure plate diaphragm spring will return the pedal via hydraulic pressure anyway. My take on the return spring is that it returns the pedal slightly beyond the retracted position, to enable the master cylinder to self-bleed. You can accomplish this without the spring by reaching down and pulling the pedal all the way back periodically, say every few hundred miles.
Regardless of having an automatic pedal frame, it will have the weld nuts for mounting the clutch master cylinder.
If you do want to install the return spring but don't have the perch, I do make and sell an add-on perch that eliminates the major pain of swapping the whole pedal cluster:

The only mod to your existing bracket is to drill a small hole at the bottom corner to install a sheet metal screw to hold it in place. The upper corner simply installs on the brake M/C stud:

Yours will already have a rubber plug in the firewall for routing the clutch M/C reservoir hose. My bracket has a hole in it which coincides with that hole to accommodate it.

I did this on my 540 using pedals from a 525 as listed above. I got the clutch return spring bracket from "The Stigg". It was pretty easy and much less intrusive then replacing the entire assy.

I’ve done the pedal bolt on, don’t bother with the return spring it does absolutely nothing. I welded the perch on for the spring and after about a year my spring self destructed. Pedal feels exactly the same and returns fine, like everyone said just get a pedal box and bolt in all on, that way you don’t have to play with the anti tamper bolts on the column
